Seminar by dr. Juan Valverde at Surrey

Last week dr. Juan Valverde, Chief Technology Officer at Virtualmech and Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Seville, gave a seminar at the University of Surrey within his secondment.

The presentation covered selected R&D and industrial projects in the field of renewable energy, with a particular focus on solar technologies, particularly Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Thermal Energy Storage (TES), including both sensible heat and thermochemical storage (TCES) systems. In the seminar various engineering designs supported by multiphysics simulations combining Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) were presented, as well as international case studies involving failure diagnostics and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) services provided by Virtualmech.
